Sixt: Terms & Conditions Croatia

Conditions for rental
Driver has to be in possession of a valid driving licence for at least 2 years.

Age restrictions
Minimum age and possession of a valid driving licence in Croatia is:
- 21 years/2 years for vehicle group ECMR and higher,
- 25 years/2 years for vehicle group SDMR, ITMR, SDAR, SVMR, FDAR, PDAR and FVMR, XFAR.

Payment methods
  • Valid voucher confirming reservation details. In addition to the voucher the client MUST PROVIDE credit card details regardless of the fact that the rental is pre-paid.
  • Eurocard, Mastercard, Visa, Diners Club and American Express Credit Cards are accepted.
General Insurance Conditions
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is available at EUR 2,60 (excl. VAT) per day and includes up to EUR 3000,-- for invalidity, and EUR 3800 for death.

Third Party Insurance (TI)
  • Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of EUR 105,000.- for material damages. Maximum cover for personal injuries is EUR 200,000.- per insured event. Insurance coverage is limited to Europe only. The hirer is liable up to the maximum amount of liability for accidents caused by the hirer, damage caused by parking, theft or any damage caused by an unknown third party.
  • Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver´s licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW+)
  • CDW plus is not compulsory. The renter can choose CDW plus to eliminate the non-waiverable responsibility/deductible. If CDW + is taken, and any vehicle damage is not accompanied by a 'Police report' or 'European Accident Report' (can be found in car documents accompanying rental contract) the client is still liable for any damages to the vehicle and will be charged accordingly.
Theft Protection (TP)
  • Theft Protection (TP) IS INCLUDED IN THE COST OF RENTAL AND RENTAL RATES.
IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE:
In the event of any major damage and the vehicle being 'undriveable', or theft the client MUST call the Police and attain a police report for damages to the vehicle. In the event of a minor accident and when there are no personal injuries to either party involved in the accident, the police do not have to be involved. However, a 'European Accident Report' (forms are located in the glove compartment of each car) has to be filled in and signed BY ALL PARTIES (OTHER CARS) INVLOVED IN THE ACCIDENT and returned to the closest Sixt station together with a written statement from the driver describing in detail the exact cause of the accident (this statement is ACCEPTABLE IN THE CROATIAN, ENGLISH OR GERMAN LANGUAGES ONLY). If the client returns the vehicle damaged without a police or 'European accident report' together with a written statement all vehicle damage will be charged to the client to the total amount of the damage.

NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE:
Driver negligence
Any damage to the vehicle which has been done due to driver negligence (burnt clutch, damage to vehicle chassis due to the car has been driven on unsealed roads, parking the car on high sidewalk curbs etc.) will be charged to the client to the FULL AMOUNT OF THE REPAIR COST.

Wrong fuel
If client has used wrong fuel type when filling the car, a charge of 200 EUR + V.A.T APPLIES.

Parking and speeding fines
Parking and speeding fines plus an administration fee of 15 EUR incl. tax will be charged to the client.

Condition of vehicle interior
If the vehicle is returned in an unacceptable state, and the interior of the vehicle is unusually dirty and in need of extra cleaning or repair costs (cigarette burns on seating etc.), a MINIMUM 'Extra Cleaning' charge of 50 EUR plus tax will apply.

Lost keys or car documents
Loss of car keys or vehicle documents will be charged 250 EUR incl. tax.

Delivery and Collection Services
Within city limits and during opening hours delivery collection is 15 eur incl. vat, Out of opening hours or outside city limits a charge of EUR 30,-- (incl. VAT) + EUR 0,50 per km (excl. VAT) applies.

One-way rentals
National: Within Sixt locations in Croatia free of charge. International: One Way drop off fee Ljubljana airport, Slovenia will be charged 360 EUR incl. tax (nett rate).

Cross border rentals (territorial restrictions)
Not allowed into Macedonia, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Russia, all former USSR countries, Turkey and Albania.
Prior notice must be given if vehicle is to be driven into Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Vehicles of type SDMR and and above + all VW and Audi vehicles are NOT PERMITTED into former Yugoslavia (Serbia, Montenegro) and Bosnia and Hercegovina.

Airport Service Fee
No airport service charge applies.

Extras
Baby seats: EUR 5,-- daily, max. EUR 25,-- (excl. VAT) per rental
Racks: EUR 6,70 daily, max. EUR 33,-- (excl. VAT) per rental

Refuelling charges
Vehicles will contain a full tank of fuel at the start of rental and should be returned full, otherwise the client will be charged with EUR 1,90 (excl. VAT) per litre of gasoline and EUR 1,70 (excl. VAT) per litre of diesel plus a refuelling charge of EUR 10,00 (excl. VAT).
These charges are subject to change without prior notice.

Additional driver
For Public and Corporate clients no additional charge applies.
Tax 22% VAT.

CRS
The CRS code is an international standard for grouping similar model vehicles into specific groups thus we can only guarantee a group of vehicles. If you do not receive the model you requested, we guarantee a vehicle that is from the same or higher ranked category of vehicles at the reserved price.
